ASTCA Board Conveys Condolences

The Board of Directors of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority yesterday conveyed its heartfelt and sincere condolences to ASTCA CEO Alex Sene, Jr., upon the recent passing of his father Aleki Sene, Sr., ASTCA’s CEO for many years.

Mr. Aleki Sene Sr’, is the longest serving director of the American Samoa Government and was appointed director of ASTCA’s predecessor, the Office of Communications even during the time of appointed governors.

Chairman of the Board of ASTCA, Roy Hall Jr, said, “We conveyed the board’s expression of appreciation for all that Alex’s father had contributed to the government and the community and for the personal friendships that board members had with Aleki Sene, Sr.”

He said the Board also gave “special recognition to the beautiful and respectful statement made by Governor Lolo M. Moliga honoring ASTCA’s past CEO Aleki Sene, Sr. for his 50 years of service to the government and the people of American Samoa.”

Hall says the board will give full recognition and honor to Aleki Sene, Sr. “for building the best telecommunications system for American Samoa where every family now has or will have fiber to their home and be able to enjoy fast internet service.”
