The new Consul General of Samoa to American Samoa, Fonoti Manogiamanu Ioane, is expected to take up his new post in the middle of next month.
Fonoti, an architect by profession, is presently Samoa’s Consul General in Australia, based in Sydney.
He was CEO of the last Pacific Games in Samoa in 2017.
Succeeding him in Sydney is the man he will replace at the Samoa Consulate in Fagatogo, Auseugaefa Vaasatia Poloma Komiti.
Reflecting on his 3 1/2 years in the territory, Auseugaefa, a former CEO of the Samoa Prime Minister’s Office and also held a leadership post in the South Pacific Commission, said his tenure in American Samoa has made him appreciate his “Samoaness” more.
