There’s a possibility that the group of firefighters from the National Park of American Samoa battling fires in California may delay their return.

According to Superintendent of the National Park of American Samoa Scott Birch, the 17 firefighters from American Samoa were to return home September 3rd however because the fire season is so bad this year in the US, there’s a possibility that the group may stay back for a few weeks longer.

The local firefighters are right in the midst of the worst forest fires in Redding, California.

As with their past assignments, the group from American Samoa have attracted the attention of newspapers and tv stations with the way they apply themselves to their work, their team spirit and their singing.

Park Superintendent Burch gave this report of how the men are doing.
