Prison guards suspended for 30 days

KHJ News has received information from sources at the Department of Public Safety that prison guards who were on duty at the Territorial Correctional Facility after midnight this past Saturday are being suspended.

The five were on duty when an inmate allegedly shot a man at a home in a Leone in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to police sources the guards have been suspended without pay for 30 days.

The inmate suspected in the shooting is serving time for the shooting incident of the Leone substation about four years ago.

The victim of the shooting was hospitalized from injuries on his leg.
