Samoa Police have confirmed that a young woman reported earlier this week as having died after falling off a moving bus in Samoa last weekend, had actually jumped off the bus.
Talamua Online reported yesterday that Police investigations revealed the 17 year old had boarded the bus at Solosolo village but realised she had left her mobile phone and asked the driver to stop.
The driver apparently told her to wait but she jumped off anyway, apparently hitting the ground hard.
Police said the driver realised what had happened and stopped and took the injured woman to hospital bnefore reporting the accident to Police.
She died the following day from injuries sustained when she jumped.
Talamua said police have also sought the Coroner’s permission to conduct an autopsuy on the deceased.
