Senator Alo Faauuga was not impressed with the attendance at yesterday’s Senate session.

Only 10 senators attended , just enough to make the quorum while 8 were absent.

With the exception of senators who are not well, Senator Alo said it’s not nice that some of them arrive early then wait around to see if there are enough senators for a quorum.

He said, “we all have commitments but we were selected by our districts to serve them.”

He asked that the Senate President advice senators about their attendance.

Senate President Gaoteote Palaie Tofau thanked the Ituau senator for the sound advice.

He said some senators may wake up in the morning and not have the strength to attend the session.

Some are off island or attending other meetings.

Nevertheless Gaoteote said he would heed Senator Alo’s counsel about advising senators regarding attendance.

Yesterday’s Senate session lasted about 11 minutes.
