The biennial conference of the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa ends tomorrow with passage of the budget and election of new leaders.

Close to 300 delegates representing nine local and off island congregations been been attending the conference at the church hedquarters at Kananafou since Monday.

The posts that are up for election are the vice chairman, secretary and treasurer.

The voting is done by secret ballot and nominations are not announced publicly.

Rather delegates write their choices and the top vote getters are then selected for a ballot.

The first to get a clear majority is declared the winner.

Usually parishes would have pre selected their candidates for the vacant positions.

Besides the church budget to be approved tomorrow, delegates will also review and discuss a report of the rebuilding of the Ua Taunuu church at Kanans Fou, a project which got underway earlier this year.

Because the rebuilding is still in progress, the conference was convened at the Mafutaga a Tina Hall.
