The parents of the drowning victim at the Pala Lagoon Swimming Center, Tinian Tuileto’a Toese is thankful for the love shown for their daughter at her funeral.

Mrs Winnie Toese shared that Tinian’s farewell this past Monday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nu’uuli was filled with friends and families including their church families and some of Tinian’s teachers from Pavaiai Elementary School.

She said it was a beautiful day and everything went well as scheduled.

“Her day was perfect and I did not expect so many people to show up but I was thankful they came, because they made her final moments special. I can never than them enough for the love and support they showed.

Mrs Toese said for now their family is slowly recovering from the loss of their eldest daughter.

“Not a day goes by that I don’t shed a tear missing and thinking of her but I pray that the Lord will help us through slowly,” said the grieving mother.

There have been calls in the House of Representatives for a hearing into the drowning, focusing on the teachers responsibility and DOE policies for off campus activities.

Representatives also want to hear from the Pala Lagoon Swimming Center regarding their rules of operation to protect against tragedies such as this.
