There’s been no reply from the Chairman of the Board and Acting CEO of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority on the reason why ASTCA employees didnt get paid on time.
Direct deposits which are normally received midnight Friday like the rest of the ASG workforce were not in bank accounts until yesterday.
Paper checks which were to be released on Monday were also released just yesterday.
Long time staff members told KHJ News that it was the first time since they joined ASTCA that this has happened.
There was no response to KHJ News emails from Acting CEO Fala Sualevai and Chairman of the ASTCA Board Faiivae Alex Godinet regarding the paycheck delay.
Staff said a notice from the Acting CEO said that the delay was due to technical issues between Bank of Hawaii and Netpay processing.
