Packages containing a crystalline substance believed to be pure crystal methemohetamine was received cthrough the LBJ Hospital mail this week.
Efforts by KHJ News all afternoon to try and get information from the Department of Public Safety were unsuccessful.
Commissiner Lei Sonny Thompson left for off island on Tuesday and Acting Commissioner Maiava told KHJ News he cannot say anything, that we had to email questions to the commissioner.
KHJ News has received confirmation from hospital sources that seven packages came in the LBJ mail this week.
The hospital mail apparently does not go through customs checks and isvdelivered directly to the Procurement Division of LBJ.
It’s not clear how the contents of the packages were discovered but KHJ News understands that the Vice and Narcotics Division have taken possession of the packages.
Tests have confirmed that the crystalline substances to be ice and the value is estimated to be more than $400,000.
