Woman accused of stealing $400,000 from employer

The case of a former emplioyee of McConnell Dowell, Fonotaga Jasmine Faanu, has been bound over to High Court.

Faanu faced 66 criminal counts,  22 each of embezzlement, stealing and forgery.

However after her preliminary examination, District Court Judge Fiti Sunia dismissed all 22 counts of embezzlement, finding no probable cause to support the charges.

The remaining 44 counts are bound over to the High Court where Faanu will be arraigned.

The defendant is accused of stealing $400,000 from the construction company.

She remains at the Territorial Correctional Facility unable to post bond of $200,000.
