Yesterday, Leone High School’s Interact Club donated trash bins to Alataua Lua Elementary School as part of Interact’s ongoing anti litter initiative.

Earlier this week, Leone’s Interact Program, led by the head of Leone’s English Department, Alice Raynar also delivered trash bins to Pava’ia’i Elementary.

The club is planning a delivery to Fagali’i Elementary today.

The group identified lack of garbage bins as a major problem with the trash in American Samoa and liaised with Rotarian, Taulapapa Willie Sword, who donated oil barrels via Pacific Energy.

Other Interact projects this year were helping the Rotary Club open the Pala Lagoon Swimming Center and relief drive for victims of Cyclone Gita.

Interact was created last September by Alice Raynar and is supported by the Rotary Club Of Pago Pago.
