Leaders of Fagatogo village were also present. Rev. Iasepi Ulu of the Fagatogo Congregational Christian Church gave the prayers and blessed the boat and his congregation’s choir lended their beautiful singing for the festive welcome.

After the tugboat docked, Captain Lafoga Alovao and the other four crew members were welcomed by wives, children and family members and Port Director Taimalelagi Dr. Claire Poumele introduced them one by one.

The other crew members are: Captain Michael Pulu, Asiasiaoga Velega-Master Journey, Sasualei Moliga-Seaman Able and Bobby Silva-Chief Engineer.

Governor Lolo Moliga praised and thanked the crew for their Samoan hearts which enabled the feat they just accomplished of sailing the tugboat all the way from Alabama, through the Panama Canal to home.

He said the territory should have faith in what their children can accomplish with their God given gifts.

The governor also thanked the US Government for funding the purchase of the new tugboat.

The name of the tugboat when it was purchased was Peggy H and there were intentions to have the name changed to Iseula before it left Alabama however there was not enough time to do this.

The traditional blessing of the tugboat Iseula with coconut milk was performed by Assistant Secretary Domenech and Congresswoman Aumua, while leaders of the executive branch, the Fono, Coast Guard Capt Long and other leaders looked on.
