In line with the theme of the 2018 Fag Day celebration, “Youth for Tomorrow,” the pese and siva or traditional entertainment which will take place after the flag raising ceremony, speeches and parade at the Veterans Memorial Stadium will be performed by young people plus the village group from Saleimoa.
According to the program, the first group to perform will be Faasao Marist High School, followed by Fagaitua High School, the American Samoa Community College and the finale will be by the 400 member group from Saleimoa.
Another feature of the Flag Day program is the US Marine Band from Kaneohe who have entertained at previous Flag day cerebrations.
About 20 members of the band are arriving tonight.
The Governor’s Office says that the band will perform while VIP guests are arriving at the stadium, and they will also march in the parade.
There are no other public performances scheduled for the marine band.
The two national anthems will be performed by Samoana High School.
