Victims Advocate Mrs Ipu Lefiti says another female cop has stepped forward with a complaint about sexual harassment by a 60 year old police officer who is her supervisor.

The female cop who has been in the force for just over a year alleges that last June she and her supervisor were in a police unit m when her superior reached across and brushed her face and his had dropped down to her left breast.

The officer made a complaint immediately however it never went anywhere.

According to Mrs Lefiti, when the officer learned that she had taken up the  case of another female cop who alleged that a police lieutenant sexually harassed her, she contacted her female colleague  who made the complaint in the recent incident and got Mrs Lefiti’s number.

The victims advocate told KHJ News that a senior female officer tried to persuade her not to go forward with her complaint,  and even an immediate relative advised her to drop it.

According to Lefiti, in her statement the female cop said she had to endure taunting remarks and sexual innuendos from her supervisor, especially when he knew that nothing was being done to her complaint.

Mrs Lefiti said the reports about the latest incident at DPS has hardened the woman’s resolve to press forward with her complaint,.

The victims advocate pointed out that the perpetrator in this incident is a 60-year-old, who is a matai and has a position in his church.

She said the Commissioner of Public Safety must take action on these sexual harassment complaints …they happened under his watch and his inaction is license for this sort of behavior to continue in the workplace.

Mrs Lefiti said she doesn’t go looking for such cases,  the victims or people that know of such cases contact her.
