To help people register in a much streamlined and efficient manner with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, a pre registration by village for all those who were affected by Tropical Storm Gita gets underway this morning.

The pre registration starts with Tafuna and begins at 730 am up to 6 pm today.

Victor Inge of FEMA says anybody that has been impacted by the disaster in the designated village will be able to pre-register.

He says the purpose of the territory’s pre-registering survivors is two-fold;

1) to properly identify the location of the damaged property, and

2) to provide for an orderly registration at the DIsaster Recivery Center. It’s to help ensure FEMA can see everyone impacted.

Here are the locations for the pre registration today:

  • Fagaima will meet at Ave o le Fetuao Methodist Church Hall, Rev. Fa’au’uga;
  • Kokoland will meet at Methodist, Susana Uesele Center; Sea-Rev. Asi Tuisalega;
  • Ottoville will meet at LDS Stakecenter, President, Star Lotolelei;
  • Happy Valley will meet at Heart of Worship, Rev. Vaivao
  • Petesa  will meet at Petesa Tai EFKAS Hall, Rev. Eleasalo Faataa.

Residents are asked to take with you to pre registration: A valid photo identification card such as Voters ID, Hospital Card, Driver’s License, Immigration Card, CI and Vital Statistics State ID.

If you have any questions, please call 699-0411.

Meanwhile ASG and FEMA are working on providing Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) for functional needs population.

Information on assistance from the Small Business Administration (SBA) for the business community will be forthcoming.

Meetings are being planned with the leaders of the Chamber of Commerce and the private sector so as to provide information on services available from the SBA for businesses impacted by Gita.
