Red Cross needs more volunteers for distribution

The man directing Red Cross operations in the aftermath of Gita says they will need more local volunteers when distribution of supplies begins later this week.

Sean Mahoney is the Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego/ Imperial Counties and leads a group of 20 from the mainland, Hawaii and Japan now on the ground to help serve individuals and families affected by the storm.

He doesn’t expect more Red Cross workers from off island.

Together with FEMA officials, the Red Cross workers from off island have pumped life into the territory’s economy.

They are occupying hotel rooms, renting cars and spending at restaurants.
