The Red Cross should be announcing by tomorrow their distribution system for emergency supplies such as tents, cots,  clean up kits, coolers and the like.

Chief Executive Officer of American Samoa Cross San Diego/Imperial Counties, Sean Mahoney, says those whose homes were totally destroyed will get first priority, after which supplies will be distributed to those with significantly damaged homes and then partially damaged homes.

He says distribution centers are to be set up to handle the distribution and avoid congestion at the Red Cross premises in Tafuna.

Mahoney leads a 20 member team from the United States and Japan who are working with the local Red Cross in the disaster response.

He says the distribution of Red Cross supplies should begin later this week.
