The American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency is testing ASPA water as water service is being restored to villages , and also checking on water vending machines throughout the island.

ASEPA Director Ameko Pato stresses that villages who were under the boil water notice before the cyclone should continue to boil water for drinking.

ASEPA is also testing vending machines across the island.

Five vending machines are to be re tested today after initial tests found harmful bacteria in them.

If they show the same results they will be shut down.

Pato says  retests are required before the names of those stores are released to the public.

Speaking to KHJ News yesterday the ASEPA director also gave advice about burning trash.
