This means when a state of emergency has been declared in the territory, businesses cannot raise prices more than 10% on essential items such as food, water, gas and building materials.
If you believe a company is price gouging after Cyclone Gita, please reach out to the American Samoa Bureau of Consumer Protection immediately. It is illegal to raise prices during or after a disaster!
