Now that the Christmas and new Year holidays are over, the two airlines providing inter Samoa service, Samoa Airways and Talofa Airways, are busy bringing back local residents who spent the holidays in Samoa or New Zealand and Australia.

Samoa Airways has three planes flying and is operating up to 15 flights a day.

A spokesman said that their passenger loads from Samoa have been full since this weekend as there have been weddings, reunions and other gatherings taking many residents to Apia.

In addition large malaga like the CCCAS Leone group which spent Christmas and New Year’s in New Zealand took up several flights on their return home.

Samoa Airways is also maintaining its daily flight to Fitiuta and the weekly flight to Ofu, while accommodating the large number of passengers heading home from Samoa after the holidays.

Talofa Airways is running six flights a day and is operating their two 9-seater aircraft.

A spokesperson says their passenger loads from Samoa have been full since the day after Christmas and that is the way it will be until January 10th.

Last week the airline had to charter Samoa Airways when one of its aircraft had to undergo maintenance.

Talofa also ran some charters for Samoa Airways prior to Christmas.
