Family Service today for Taeaoafua Dr. Meki Solomona

A family service of relatives and friends of Taeaoafua Dr.Meki Solomona, Director of Human and Social Services in the Lolo and Lemanu cabinet is being held at 5 this evening at the Lee Auditorium.

Taeoafua, passed away December 11 after collapsing in his office at DHSS. He was 63.

Leaders of the executive branch, and friends and colleagues of the long time educator, who joined the administration after several years as the community and government liaison for StarKist Samoa, will be attending the service.

His extended family from Leone, Fitiuta and Saleimoa in Samoa will also be there, as will his wife Vaofua’s clan from Nu’uuli.

Many relatives and friends have traveled from off island to pay their respects.

Taeaoafua’s final services are set for Thursday and Friday.

His body will be taken from the LBJ morgue for a prayer service at the LBJ Chapel at 9am Thursday and taken to the CCCAS Siona le Mauga Paia church in Leone for his first church service.

From there he will lie in state at the guest house of the Taeleifi family at Pouono where wake services will be held.

Taeaoafua’s final service takes place the next morning at the CCCAS church in Leone at 11am followed by his burial on the hills of Tafeta where he and his wife Vaofu’a, their daughter Katerina, her husband and two children reside.
