The Executive Director of the American Samoa Visitors Bureau David Vaeafe sees benefits for the territory with Samoa’s new international airline, Samoa Airways.

Last week the airline inaugurated service to New Zealand and Australia, two markets that the Visitors Bureau has been working to develop for the last several years.

Vaeafe held meetings with the CEO of Samoa Airways, Seiuli Alvin Tuala, formerly of the ASG Attorney General’s Office and Department of Port Administration and has been assured that American Samoa is being included in the airline’s promotional efforts.

The airline is also hoping to begin flight service to the US West Coast and Vaeafe says that will help bring in more tourists from north America to both Samoa.
