Samoa police have appealed to the public for assistance to identify the driver of a vehicle alleged to be involved in a hit and run accident which took the life of an Australia missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints last Sunday.
The missionary ws identified 21 year old Aaron Ahkau Matapa Patiole.
According to Talamua News Service, a police report said a suspect has been identified as a recently returned worker on the Regional Seasonal Workers Program in Australia.
The police also allege alcohol was involved and that the vehicle was a rental car.
Police are concentrating their search in the District of Falealili, on the south coast of the main island Upolu, where the accident happened.
