TAOA hosts King & Queen pageant

It’s a pageant with a difference.

Contestants have to be at lest 60 years old and two will be selected on to be the King and Queen of TAOA.

Director of the Territorial Administration on Aging Office Mrs Evelyn Satele Lilio says they’re inviting departments and companies to enter contestants for the competition scheduled for December 7 at the Pago Pago Youth Center.

The contestants will appear in teen wear, puletasi and ie faitaga and shirt, casual wear, and be judged for their talent, interview answer and their ability to do the siva.

Mrs Satele Lilio says by the end of the competition, only five finalists from each of the male and  female and division will be on stage for the judges to pick the eventual winners.

Since her appointment as Director of TAOA, Mrs Satele Lilio has introduced several activities for senior citizens.

The TAOA handicraft center which sells arts and crafts made by participants of the TAOA employment program has become a popular stop for cruise ship tourists and also school groups.
