Bahais celebrate 200th birthday of founder Baha’ullah

A bicentennial celebration is taking place at the Lee Auditorium on Saturday.

Bahais are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of their founder, Bahá’u’lláh.

The National Spiritual Assembly, which oversees the affairs of the Bahai Faith here and Samoa  is inviting local government and community leaders to join them in the celebration Saturday evening.

Jilla Proozmandi says the celebration is by invitation only and they hope to share the teachings of their revered leader on this occasion.

Lemanu Siomia Auvele, chairman of the National Spiritual Assembly of Samoa will be the keynote speaker and Governor Lolo Moliga has been invited to give remarks.

There are about 200 members of the Bahai Faith in American Samoa and Bahai Centers are set up in Tafuna, Iliili, Leone, Pago Pago and Nu’uuli.

In Samoa there are about 2000 Bahai followers and a House of Worship was opened in Afiamalu, Samoa more than 20 years ago.
