The clamp down on drugs netted two defendants accused of selling prohibited substances in the territory.

Galu Nofoa and Iosefa Alo appeared separately before District Court Judge Fiti Sunia today and waived their rights to preliminary hearings.

Bail for the two men are set at $20,000 each.

The attorney for Galu Nofoa, Assistant Public Defender Ryan Anderson made a motion to reduce his client’s bail to $5,000. but his motion was denied by Judge Fiti Sunia.

The judge pointed out that $5,000 is the bail amount for possession but the defendant is accused of distribution of controlled substances.

During the hearing for defendant Iosefa Alo, a teacher, the judge said that if he is able to post bond, he must stay way from students, meaning he should not be at work.

The two, who were remanded back to the Territorial Correctional Facility, will be back in court tomorrow.
