The Election Office has announced three polling places for the special election for District No. 5, Sua #1 next Tuesday.
Voters will choose a new House representative to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former faipule Puleleliite Tufele Liamatua Jr, who is now the executive Director of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority.
Voters in Amaua, Alega, Avaio and Auto will cast ballots at the EFKAS Hall with Rev Letalitonu Tagaloa,
Another polling booth will be at Fagaitua in the EFKAS Hall with Rev. John Fano and the third one will be the Laulii Catholic Hall, with Fr. Pale Schimdt for voters in Laulii, Aumi and Tafananai.
Meanwhile students and members of the public will hear from five of the six candidates vying in the special election at a forum at the Fagaitua High School gym this evening,
School Principal, Suaese Pooch Ta’ase told KHJ News that the hour long forum which will start at 5:00 PM was organized by the school’s Close Up students and will give the candidates the opportunity to share their views of specific issues affecting the territory and district of Sua
Mr. Ta’ase said that all but one candidate have confirmed their participation in this evening’s forum.
The six candidates on the ballot for Sua are Fialupe Felila Fiaui Lutu, Ketesemane Meaole, Laloniu P. Maloa, Tu’aalofi Fa’alae Lauatua’a Tunupopo, Tuifagalilo P. Vele and Uele Fale S Uele.
