The sultry voice of a young Samoan singer Audrey English can be heard on the trailer of a psychological thriller TV series that’s playing in Europe, United Emirates and streamed on line, Fortitude.

Audrey is the eldest of three daughters of former Samoa Air pilot and now a captain at United Airline, John, and Ane Ah Foon English, a former editor of Islandhood, a youth page in the Samoa News in 1992 -1993.

Audrey says Autumn is the first song she ever recorded a cover of.

Two weeks after she posted her recording on You Tube, a TV and movie production company in the UK asked if they could use it for a promotional trailer for Fortitude.

Fortitude was premiered two years ago in Europe and is still streamed online world wide.

Some networks in other countries, like Dubai, just picked it up so it’s still a brand new series to them.

Audrey’s mother says she didn’t grow up singing so it was a pleasant surprise when I heard her singing in the house one day.

Recently Audrey, who was born at LBJ Hospital, posted on her Face Book page, a video of her singing a song that her grandfather used to sing to her mother as a child in Leuluoega tuai, Le Manu tagi e.

The couple always keep their daughters connected to their Samoan roots and try to visit as often as possible.

Its hoped that on one of their trips in the future, residents will be able to hear this young and talented singer who’s making a name for herself around the world.
