Flash Flood warning issued

This is a special bulletin from the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security – TEMCO issued at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for Tutuila, Aunu’u, Manu’a and Swains until Thursday at 7:00 a.m., October 19, 2017. This is due to heavy rainfall at times from a trough across the territory which may trigger runoffs in small streams and along the main road.

Residents and drivers in areas prone to flooding and or landslides are urged to be cautious for safety and to protect life and property. Do not cross fast flowing and or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.

The American Samoa Department of Homeland Security – TEMCO will continue to monitor the situation and we will issue further bulletins if necessary. Report any weather related incidents to the EOC at 699-3800/6990411 or the Police at 633-1111.
