StarKist Samoa will resume production Monday after a one week unscheduled shutdown due to a fish supply situation.
A notice from StarKist advises employees that production will resume on Monday, August 28.
All areas will follow their normal production schedules.
However, the Fish Room Butchering Department has to report to work at 5pm on Sunday, August 27.
Michelle Faist, Vice President of StarKist Co, the cannery’s parent company, had explained that last week’s shutdown was the result of fish supply shortages and production was expected to resume after additional deliveries are made.
When cannery employees dont work they dont receive paychecks.
