Governor wants repeat of tsunami drill

At an emergency cabinet meeting that Governor Lolo Moliga called this morning, the governor expressed his displeasure at how some directors didn’t take the training drill, the tsunami functional exercise seriously.

Directors who led yesterday’s exercise briefed the governor and lt governor on how the drill went.

According to Director of Homeland Security Samana Semo Ve’ave’a, Governor Lolo was a bit disappointed with the way the drill was handled.

The governor was stationed at the Emergency Operations Center in Tafuna with an official of the Federal Emergency management Agency who observed the execution of the exercise.

David Haas, Federal Coordinating Officer, Pacific Area Office of FEMA Region 9, made this observation.

Homeland Security Director Samana says Governor Lolo wants a repeat of the tsunami functional exercise and this time he wants every department to execute their emergency plan.

Samana said the governor wants it done again and done right.

He added that all departments have emergency plans but they don’t follow instructions.
