The Department of Commerce is monitoring  how participants who took part in last month’s Access to Capital seminar are using information that they obtained from the event.

The one day seminar sponsored by the Department of Commerce and the Development Bank of American Samoa brought under one roof banks, local and federal agencies that provide financial assistance or technical know how and business owners and those thinking of going into business.

Mike McDonald of the Department of Commerce one of the coordinators of the seminar says they will continue outreach efforts to promote the services and resources that are available for business expansion or start ups.

He said the banks and other government agencies are also doing their own follow ups with participants.

It’s understood that ANZ Bank is gauging interest of the participants of the Access to capital seminar with plans to hold their own workshops for interested business people or those with ideas of starting new commercial ventures.

McDonald said DOC plans to continue their outreach and public awareness activities on a monthly basis.
