Polynesian Airlines Twin Otter grounded at Tafuna

One of Polynesian Airlines Twin Otters was in the hangar at Pago Pago International Airport yesterday after developing mechanical problems.

An airline employee said that the plane was being fixed and they hoped to have it up and running by the afternoon.

Polynesian has two other Twin Otters operating inter Samoa flights and the daily flight to Ta’u, Manu’a. a

The airline staffer said their flight schedule was not interrupted and flights were on time.

The month of July is a very busy one on the inter Samoa route with several church conferences being held mostly in Apia.

Several weddings from the territory have been held in Samoa in the last two weeks, adding to heavier than usual traffic loads.
