The Department of Health has received the test results for the suspected dengue death however no information can be released to the public until the family of the deceased has been notified.

The results were received Tuesday but as of today the family of the 17-year-old male suspected to have died from dengue had not been informed of the cause of death, based on the test results.

DOH Epidemiologist Magele Scott Anesi said in response to KHJ News inquiries they can comment generally on cases but not one specific case .

And until the family of the deceased has been informed of the test results, and gives permission to talk about their family member’s case, DOH cannot release the test resulted.

Meanwhile the epidemiologist said vector control, that is getting rid of mosquitoes which spread dengue, Zika, and Chikungunya is continuing in the villages.

DOH just hired 15 new employees under a federal grant to go out in the villages to inspect and identify areas where special attention should be given, whether it be a clean up, collection of trash or other measure to prevent the spread of mosquito borne diseases.
