This week is Senior Citizens Week and the Territorial Administration on Aging Office has planned daily activities for our elderly mothers and fathers .
The celebration stats off today with various government departments discussing work opportunities for senior citizens and also services that they provide.
Tomorrow will see the senior citizens in friendly competition in traditional sports such as basket weaving, starting the fire the old way, coconut scraping and other cultural sports.
Then from Wednesday to Friday the celebration moves to Suigaula o le Atuvasa where the seniors will be making and selling Samoan delicacies like vaisalo, supo esi, faausi and other treats.
A parade and awarding of awards is also planned.
