This Saturday is Mosquito Action Day, an initiative by the Department of Health to heighten awareness and action from the community in stamping out mosquito which carry deadly diseases such as dengue, and Zika.
Various sections of DOH will have booths at the Fagatogo marketplace from 8am to noon.
Umi Nuuao of the Emergency Preparedness Division of DOH says there’ll be lots of information to share about diseases which are spread by mosquitoes.
The territory has not has a single case of Ebola.
The latest dengue report has 25 suspected cases between April 24-May 5, with two new confirmed cases.
Counties with the highest number of suspected dengue cases are Sua and Ituau.
For Zika, the number of new suspected cases in the same time period is 34.
