The American Samoa Chamber of Commerce holds a general membership meeting tonight at Don’t Drink the Water, beginning at 5:30 pm.

Chairman Archie Taotasi Soliai extends a cordial invitation to all Chamber members, non-members, businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals interested in joining the private sector organization to their first meeting of the year.

He says the Board of Directors wishes to share its goals and objectives for the year and are asking for the support from everyone to move that agenda forward.

Soliai says, “There are a variety of internal and external obstacles and challenges that continue to threaten the sustainability of local businesses.

“One of the roles of the Chamber of Commerce is to serve as a forum where the business community can discuss its common aims, problems, future plans and, as necessary, formulate submissions to the government on matters of concern to the business community and act as its spokesman when required.”

He stressed it will take a united front to overcome those challenges, and I am hopeful that all local businesses and entrepreneurs see the value in joining Chamber.

Tonight’s meeting is being hosted by BlueSky Communications and the chairman thanks Country Manager Fotu Vaai Tinitali and the BlueSky team for hosting.
