The Chief Financial Officer of LBJ Hospital Pauline Gebauer opted not to seek renewal of her employment contract with the hospital.

According to LBJ CEO, Taufetee John Faumuina, Gebauer’s contract expires next month and she opted not to seek or request renewal of her contract with the Board of Directors.

This was indicated in Gebauer’s letter to Chairman of the Hospital Authority Board Filifaatali Mike Fuiava.

Gebauer, according to the CEO, is on leave until the end of her contract.

The LBJ Board of Directors, upon receiving Gebauer’s notice decided to appoint Mr. Emau Amosa as Acting Chief Financial Officer when Gebauer’s contact expires in April.

Taufete’e says the board will have Amosa serve as acting CFO up to September 30, at which time  the Board will decide whether to advertise for a new CFO or to appoint Amosa as the CFO based on a performance evaluation from the CEO.

Faumuina said Gebauer indicated she has family obligations in California that needs her full attention.

Commenting on Gebauer’s contributions to LBJ, the CEO said, “Pauline is a good and hard worker and full of passion to succeed in her profession. She will be missed.”
