The untold story of an American Samoan soldier who saved his comrades from death in an Improvised Explosive Device explosion in the battlefields of Iraq is the subject of a movie produced by Steven Spielberg.
The US Army soldier is Tausolo Aieti.
The reason why Aieti’s act of bravery was not known is because he kept the information to himself when he returned home.
Acting as Aieti in the movie, “Thank you for your service, ” which also tells the story of another unsung soldier, is a Samoan actor from New Zealand, Beulah Koale.
Beulah has just returned from the United States after filming the movie and spent a lot of time with Aieti who is still recovering from posttraumatic stress disorder and trying to up the pieces of his life.
