Lets hear it for the Le Vasa team.  They won the mixed iron race of the Sheraton to Sheraton regatta on Saturday in Apia, being the only team to enter this tough race where there’s no change in the crew.

The race course was from Sheraton Aggie Grey’s at Vaisigano to Sheraton Aggie Grey’s Resort Mulifanua, a distance of 18 miles.

Team Levasa consists of Paula Stevenson, Luao Wasko, Sandra Lei Ho Ching, Julie Falanai, Ambrose Faatoafe and Ropate Delana.

Le Vasa Head Coach Paula Stevenson said,  “This is another notch in our club’s belt. We are still far from where I’d like us to be, but every race, every event is another step forward and we are proud of our team.

“We are proud of how the Alo men’s crew did . Both clubs have been working hard to represent American Samoa and we look forward to doing more this year.”

This Friday Le Vasa is holding the 1st annual Pago Pago Harbor Classic.

Mike McDonald, President of the American Samoa Association of Paddlers (ASAP) encourages people to come out to Sadies, 4pm Friday, “to see what the sport is all about.”
