With news reports of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority requesting another loan from the Retirement Fund, Mauputasi Representative Ve’evalu Meauta Lauoi Mageo is requesting a hearing into the request.
The Pago Pago Faipule wants to find out how the initial loan that the Retirement Fund gave to ASTCA last year was used.
ASTCA is seeking another $4 million loan from the pension fund.

Neither the House’s Communication Committee Chairman, Rep. Puleleiite Li’a Tufele Jr. nor the Vice Chairman, Vailoata Eteuati Amituana’i were present during this morning’s r session when the issue was brought up.
Therefore a hearing date has not been scheduled.
Rep. Vailoata Eteuati Amituana’i is the Chairman of the House Retirement Fund Committee.
