Trade Fair set for week before Flag Day

There will be a trade show the week before Flag Day, just like last year.

The fair will be coordinated by the Department of Commerce and the American Samoa Chamber of Commerce and will be a venue for local businesses to display their goods and services.  Farmers and food vendors will also be part of the trade exhibition.

It will be held at the Suiga ula o le Atuvasa April 10-13th,

Alex Zodiacal, who is the DOC point of contact for the Trade Fair says the government will provide tents and there’ll be no charge for vendors for the duration of the fair.

DOC and the chamber are coordinating the business vendors and Department of Agriculture and Department of Health will handle local produce and food vendors.

Space will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Registration has begun at DOC and according to Zodiacal, already 30 vendors have expressed interest.

The idea of a Trade Fair leading up to Flag Day was first introduced in 2015 when there was a 2 Samoa fair the week before Flag Day.

Last year the Trade Fair was staged for just local businesses, and that will be the format again this year,
