Saole House Representative Kitara Vaiau is concerned with reports of school breakin and vandalism.

The faipule today asked that the Director of Education be brought before the House so they can discuss the incidents, what’s causing them and come up with a solution.

Vaiau said school break ins are not confined to the western side of the island.

He said that there are burglaries occuring in schools on Tutuila, Manu’a, Central District and even the Eastern District.

Vaiau stated that the break ins are a serious issue as government assets are being stolen and vandalized, and the culprits are turning out to be the usual juveniles and  students.

The freshman faipule reminded his colleagues that they should all be concerned and become involved in a solution , after all education is everyone’s business.

Neither the Education Committee Chairman, Rep. Vaetasi Tu’umolimoli Moliga nor the Vice Chairman, Rep. Ve’evalu Meauta Lauoi Mageo responded to the faipule’s concern.
