February is declared CTE-Career Technological Education Month across the nation.

Locally, the Vocational Education Division of DOE is commemorating CTE month by inviting guest speakers from different sections of the community: government, autonomous agencies, federal agencies, and businesses to talk to students about career choices and importance of college education.

In addition, the Annual Accounting Competition held last Friday was a highlight of CTE month.

This week, presenters are at all of the public high schools sharing their knowledge, expertise and experiences with students taking Business, Family Consumer Science, and Applied Tech Classes.

The speakers were at Faga’itua-Tuesday, Samoana-Wednesday, Tafuna-Thursday, Leone-Friday, and PolyTech-Monday, February 27th.

For elementary schools, the Annual Career Fair for 5th graders that was started last year is planned for May.

The Voc-Ed. Division under the leadership of Mrs. Heidi Uele and teachers thank  all organizations and presenters who volunteered to  be speakers and help out in any way.
