Governor Lolo Moliga is hopeful that a retiring auditor with the Inspector General’s Office of the US Department of Homeland Security Region Nine, Arona Maiava, will return to work for ASG.
Maiava spent a few weeks going over ASG operations and was introduced by Governor Lolo at last week’s cabinet meeting.
Maiava is familiar with the local Department of Homeland Security as he was involved with the audits that showed disallowed and questionable spending of homeland security funds, under the Tauese Togiola Administration.
The governor said that Maiava was retiring from his federal job and he hopes he will join ASG where his expertise will be put to good use.
