The Legislature returns to work today after a two week break, that was intended to save session days.

The confirmation of directors will be the main item on the Fono’s agenda for most of this session.

Governor Lolo Moliga is optimistic that all directors will get the green light from the Fono.

He said at the first meeting of his new cabinet “no doubt all of you will be confirmed if you give them a positive attitude.”

Lolo advised director nominees to tell lawmakers “you are ready to take over leadership” of your departments.

He urged that the cabinet appointees spend time to prepare for their confirmation hearings, and be prepared to answer serious questions.

The governor said that he has asked the Fono to review 7 or 8 directors who will be traveling with him to meetings in the mainland, but did not say who those directors were.

The meeting of the White House Inter Agency Group for Insular Areas is set for next month in Washington D.C.

The first group of directors whose names were submitted to the Fono included the Attorney General, Commissioner, Port Administration Director, and Treasurer.
