County Chief Igafo Malia Brown Vaa says the new anti litter law will be a great help in keeping the territory clean.

After being on the job for five years, the main problem she sees is some families not recognizing the authority of pulenuu and county chiefs. She says some don’t like pulenuu telling them what to do.

The military retiree who is also vice president of the Miss American Samoa Inc. says she’s worked well with pulenuu in her county and her gender has not affected her working relationship with matai pulenuu who are older than her,

She talked about her work in keeping villages litter free at the swearing in of Samoan Affairs officials yesterday.
