It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Fagatogo Pavilion with the government’s Christmas tree up and ready to be lit.

Sunday is when the 2016 Annual Holiday Music Festival gets underway,

The Department of Administrative Services spent today putting up the pine tree that will be the territorial Christmas tree and decorating it.

Gago F Gago of Administrative Services says the Christmas tree was about 40 feet tall but had to be trimmed because the leaves were dried from the heat.

Gago acknowledged the help of the American Samoa Power Authority and Happy Trucking in getting the tree to Fagatogo.

The Arts Council’s Annual Christmas program opens Sunday evening with a prayer service, remarks by Governor Lolo Moliga and lighting of the territorial Christmas tree by the First Lady.

The program  which is for three nights, will feature mostly music of the season, and some skits.

There’ll be 13 groups performing each evening.
