Bank of Hawaii Awards Atina’e Manuia Grants

Five small businesses have been awarded Atina’e Manuia mo Amerika Samoa Grants from the Bank of Hawaii.

The grants of $5,000 each are intended to help the business start ups or existing business expand.

The recipients of the Bank of Hawaii Atinae Manuia mo Amerika Samoa grants are ACT Chips owned by Temukisa Tuiolosega,  Alliance Insurance and Financial Services operated by Matt Wade,  Cheat Day operated by Tina Reid,  Flying Fox Brewery, owned by Nathan Ilaoa and ·Lomi Lomi Day Spa and Hair Salon operated by Christine Smith.

The grants represent an investment by the bank in the territory’s economic development and lifting the standard of life for families in American Samoa.

They are awarded on the basis of impact to the business and economic benefit to the community.

Applicants were required to have a demonstrated track record in operating a business or management experience.

They also had to complete either the American Samoa Small Business Development Center Small business training program or the Bank of Hawaii Smart Money small business financial education training.
